Life/Edit undertook its biggest and most challenging declutter yet at the weekend. Along with 20 volunteers, we cleared out 3 rooms in our local school (Towerbank Primary in Portobello) in preparation for a brand new library which will soon be built in the school. A whole skip load of rubbish was thrown away, and school books and resources were moved up and down stairs to different rooms which were repurposed to house them. It was a challenging day as it was a hot sunny day in Edinburgh and it was a lot of physical work, but the volunteers pulled together and we finished an hour earlier than scheduled!

Although it was hard work, we had a great time and everyone felt a real sense of achievement afterwards. It’s great to think that we have played a small part in the development of a library for our school children.

I love working with people to change their homes for the better. What I do is not about achieving minimalism, it’s about listening to my clients and assisting them in getting where they want to be; whether it’s preparing a nursery for a new baby, changing the function of a room, sorting out a wardrobe or tackling that dreaded cupboard under the stairs.
