Nothing like a good old cupboard before and after is there?

Over the years, Janet* had reached the point where she was simply putting things into the cupboards because she could no longer access them properly.

As things continued to build up, the clutter became increasingly overwhelming.
She knew that many of the items could go, but removing such a large volume from the house had become a significant challenge due to her physical health.

Her goal was to have all of her shoes and coats stored away neatly while remaining easily accessible, and to keep only the items she needed in the larger cupboard.

She was delighted to be able to walk into the cupboard, clearly see everything she needed, and access it with ease.

As the clutter goes, the noise, irritation and guilt goes too. And that’s why we love what we do.

It was an absolute pleasure getting this home ready for sale.

Significant disability has meant that the client who lives in this house (let’s call her Sue) simply cannot do what she knows she needs to,in order to move house.

Over the last few years, Sue’s condition has worsened and she has found herself unable to manage her home any more.

With a heavy heart, she has decided to move out. The right decision, for sure; but one which left her in a position of panic about how to get the house ready for sale.

As someome who has used LIFE / EDIT’s services some hears ago, she knew to call us and we have worked with her side-by-side over the last little while to declutter, downsize her possessions and prepare her home for the market.

She’s openly said she wouldn’t have been able to do this without our help: we have literally been her hands during the process.

I genuinely can’t wait to show you the after pictures… The house is going on the market next week and Sue is delighted with how it looks.

We even managed to help her find a new home on which an offer was accepted the day we finished preparing her house for the market. We all jumped up and down with excitement when the call came through: it felt like such a joint effort and shared celebration.

Its brutal.

Social media / the pressure to look this way and that / exams / uni / social media / jobs / family / social lives / social media / body image / arghhhhhhh

I can’t imagine how hard it is. But this girl can. She has had the hardest of times and her bedroom wasn’t the sanctuary she desperately needed it to be.

It was cluttered; confused and didn’t represent the cultured, bright and talented young woman we saw. It was full of bad memories and perceived mistakes. So would my 18 yo bedroom have been, to be fair. And most of us.

But now?

It’s HER.

The clever, activist, feminist and arty gal we met. Here she is. Purged of all the other stuff.

What an honour to work with this firebomb.

When she’s a famous artist, I’ll shout ‘we sorted her bedroom!’

Vivien and Lindsay took a cluttered, overwhelming space and created a functional utility cupboard for our client.

Half of it is taken up by the dog stuff, but that figures as the dog in question is a perfect princess!
